Independence Day Weekend

Ahhhhhhh Monday! I gotta admit ya'll the whole reason I started the "Summer in NYC" sub-blog was to force myself to have something to do almost everyday of the summer. I didn't believe I would actually be gettin my broke ass up and doing something for the better portion of every week. Needless to say due to my great friends (which will be mentioned on this post) I've been having a great Summer and something tells me its only gonna get better before its over.

So
July 3rd:
A few days ago my brother Dwayne hit me up on twitter and invited me to me to his cookout... Now I love hanging out with my boys period, but this nigga D can host a BBQ, its always one you don't wanna miss. So naturally you know I couldn't miss that. He called to remind me and I was already 10 steps ahead of him.... I showered, got dressed and headed out.
When I got there Will (another one of my boys 10 years strong) was already there along with Ms. Terry, D's lil Bros and a few aunts and grandma. I had a dope Hot dog and some CapriSuns mmmmmmmm CapriSuns (Homer Voice) lolol. Soon after that Fray (Another one of my boys 10 years strong) showed up with his Boy Mike and Katie showed up too. Don't exactly remember what the order was. lol But all in all it was a great cookout. See for yourself:

July 4th:

So yesterday, like Saturday I REFUSED to be in the house despite not having any plans.... Mylez and some of the fellas played ball but I missed that call so I couldn't make it. But I spoke with my Isha Baby and she planned a last minute cookout... Shiiiiiiit, I was with it... I showered, hit my closet, picked up my shades and my fedora and met her on the corner.

From there we went to go pick up Arshon and the day began! It was way dope!

I don't expect any of my readers to be checking for me right now, it being July 4th and all that. (I would say Happy July 4th, but I don't feel like it lol) But just wanna let ya know I'm livin and lovin Life. So far my Summer has been the best, I'm still thanking God every day for another day of life with all 5 of my senses in tact and I wanted to Remind ya that Summer in NYC is gonna be back with a Butt Load of Pictures at the start of next Week (tomorrow.) Don't have much to say at this moment, except I was having a convo with a good friend. In the convo i found myself saying "That's a Prime example of: "You don't know what you've go til its gone" and instantly, Janet Jackson's voice popped into my head. I love this video, Something about vintage videos with beautiful black people celebrating and having a good time (So unlike what we're used to seeing all the time) that just brightens my day. Lol What's goin on ya? It would seem everyone took head to my words and saw to it that I have a Good Summer huh? Lol.

So the other day while chillen with Lady (my baby) Ty she mentioned the beach. I don't remember if I told her I'd go, but when I saw the status message on her FaceBook earlier today I was reminded and thought it's be a great idea to join her!

So I showered, packed my trunks, (that I knew I wouldn't use) packed Candace in her bag and headed for the train station. I met up with Ty, her sister Tt, and Tt's friends Christina and Mike. It was a dope day at the beach, just a lil below usual Beach day temperatures but fun nonetheless. You know me, Soon as we got there it was flick, flick, flick.... lol. 6 Flags More Fun!

Whats goin on ya?

Sorry for the delay but I'll explain in a minute why it took so long for this post. Lol, First off, how's everyone enjoyin week 2 of Summer? I know I'm lovin it. So a few days ago my homegirl Isha Baby hit me up and said she was gonna play hookie from work (shhhhhhhhh don't tell nobody) and Hit 6 Flags! I said "Shiiiiiiiiiiit we out, lets do it!" I haven't been to 6 Flag my entire adult life. I think last time I was there I was somewhere between 10-12 years old. Anyway, Tuesday came and I was super excited like a Lil kid. We all (me, Isha Baby, Deana and Mylez meng) met up and got on our way, Blastin music the whole way, crackin jokes, singin along you know the deal...

My agenda for the day was like it is ANY other time I go to an amusement park: "Get on every ride thats open--if its a roller coaster get on it." So that being the plan we thought the ultimate high was getting on Kingda Ka, Mylez and I had never been on it and we wanted to see whats up. So of course we opened up with Nitro, Batman and joints like that.

Now lemme tell you about Kingda Ka:
Its the Tallest Fastest RollerCoaster in the world. It reaches 128 mph in 3.5 seconds, it reaches heights of 456 feet in the air! WHAAAATTT? Imma tell you like this, I love Roller Coasters and I tell myself its just a ride, It's nuttin major, but before getting on this one I was all but wetting my pants! lol. Me and Buddy were Praying, crackin Nervous Jokes, Deana had that nervous smile on her face, and Isha Baby didn't even get on line with us! Lol. So Finally we get there and its our turn. Right before it took off Mylez said:"Yo, what were we thinkin b.... This is---" BPHOOOOM, Joint took off like lightning.......... (Screen turns black)
Son! I don't even know what 128 mph feels like in a car, let alone an open roller coaster train. the edges of my lips were behind my ears! I couldn't scream, but I could somehow make out the words: "OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTT" Lmao, and that's before it even started going up! lol. But when we got to the very top, and it slowed down for that half a second and it dropped us again, thats when it got real in the field. I don't remember anything after that drop.

At that Point (He claims he said "Oh Shoot") but I swore to everything I love that Buddy said "Oh Shit!" lol, now he says he didn't so imma leave it at that, but I guess I'll have to pay more attention next time we get on it.

So Finally we come back down to earth, everyone on the ride has their hair pushed all the way back from the wind, lookin like Freakazoid. lol. All in all the only words I can find to describe the experience is "Religious." My hands just stopped shaking and that my friends is why this post is at least a day late! lol. So I apologize folks.... but please enjoy a few Photos. lol

I forgot to mention, we arrived to the park around 5 and thought it closed at 9, but it closed at 8. So after Kingda Ka it was all over, But so what? That was the dopest joint in the park so we had a blast! lol. Why don't ya roll with us next time?
